Antique pocketwatch made from two Caballito Peso coins, which were silver coins minted shortly after the Mexican Revolution. "Caballito Peso" translates to Small Horse Peso. Please note that these coins are 90% silver.
The watch face is cut out of the obverse, with the words "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" above. The reverse shows a woman riding a horse with the year 1911 beneath. The coins are edged with the phrase "INDEPENDENCIA Y LIBERTAD" (Independence and Liberty). The crown is placed underneath the loop, with a soldered jump ring available to thread onto a chain or watch fob. Wonderful collectible piece of Mexican history.
